Sillfield Wind Cluster
September 2008, we submitted a planning application for the proposed Sillfield Wind Cluster in Preston Patrick, near Kendal in Cumbria. If consented, the project will be for 3 turbines, with an installed capacity of between 6 and 7.5 megawatts.
The Sillfield Wind Cluster would produce enough electricity to meet the needs of up to 4,000 homes, which is equivalent to 9.5% of the homes in South Lakeland. If the scheme is consented, we are committed to establishing a community benefit fund which would provide income for the local residents to spend on local projects and initiatives.
Comments on the proposal can be made online (at www.southlakeland.gov.uk), by email (to Development.Control@southlakeland.gov.uk) or by post (to Mr B Jackson, Planning and Development, South Lakeland District Council, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, Cumbria LA9 4UF) should be made to Barry Jackson at South Lakeland District Council quoting planning application number SL/2008/0900.
